San O deck pad = crap

Just took my San O paddleboard for her maiden voyage last night. IT WAS FANTASTIC! My only complaint is the foam deck pad. It's very slippery, especially on bare skin. Every time I tried to knee paddle, my knee would slip off, and I'd follow shortly thereafter. The water in Seattle is coooooooold right now, so it wasn't fun.

I'm going to try rubbing surfboard wax on the foam to provide some traction, but I'm not sure it will work.

Any other advice?
