Does the idea of cartopping your precious craft, or handling a trailer over long distance or at highway speed make you queasy? Got questions about best practices for tiedowns, orientation, or safety?
In this 2-hour workshop participants will receive instruction and gain confidence in transporting their kayak, SUP, or small boat via cartop or trailer. A member of CLC’s staff will demonstrate tried and true, safe practices for securing a small vessel to a roof rack or trailer with recommendations on gear. Learn about the do’s and don’ts of transporting your boat and leave with peace of mind when it comes time to hit the road!
Topics will include:
- Roof rack system discussion (types and brands).
- Accessories for roof rack systems (tie downs, rack pads, bow & stern ties, etc…
- Kayak Cradles and loaders
- Strap-on kayak and board carriers for vehicles without roof racks.
- Securing your boat to your roof rack (demo)
