Skerry sail plan

Finished my A. Wherry, love it, but can't quench my desire to sail.

I appreciated the lines of the skerry as soon as I saw it, but I'm wondering about the feasibility of a larger sail plan. I assume part of the reason for the small sail is the unstayed mast and portability.

Has anyone experimented with a marconi rig or larger sail?
