Finished the pram last year that I use in Copper Harbor, Mi. Beachs are all rock. I added brass strips to the keel and rub strips and the bottom survived well but the first lap got scared pretty bad. Other than adding weight, would I cause any other problem if I glassed and painted the first lap?

Thanks for the affirmation, I didn't think I'd cause a problem but it never hurts to ask.

Hello Reeddy,
I've just finished a passagemaker, you may want to see CLC website construction photos, etc. It was two wooden skids to protect it, etc. Fiberglass is not a bad idea, and I don't think a few pounds would be a problem... the alternative (a hole) is not something you would like to have...
