Adding tie downs inside on bottom of NED
Hi,
I am finally getting close to finishing my NED I started a couple years ago.
I am thinking I will add some tie downs on the bottom to secure items while rowing aroung. Things like cooler, crab pots, tackle box etc. My plan is to make the something like a padeye out of wood and epoxying them down on the bottom next to the seats so they are available to hook ropes or bungees to but not in the way of feet.
The NED will only be for rowing. No plans for sailing.
I have some mahogany I will use to make the wooden padeyes. 2-3 inches long 1 inch high 3/4 inch wide with 1/2 inch x 1 inch opening.
Has anyone done this before or can see any problems with this approach?
I have a bunch of pictures at the link.
Thanks,
Rich
