Eastport Pram as Tender

Posted by Ron Sjolander on Oct 5, 2006

I have a 25 ft C-Dory Ranger on order that won't be available until next spring. It's trailerable so it is only 8.5 feet wide with a 8 foot swimdeck. This seems like a perfect match with the Eastport Pram as a tender - particularly since I've wanted to build one anyway.

It would be easy enough to adapt one of the dinghy davit systems to mount the pram on the swimstep but I'm concerned that pounding and probable flexing would ultimately destroy the finish if not the boat. Alternatively, it could hang either horizontally or verically from some type of hanger. There are fancy systems available that cost twice as much as the pram and will practically lift the mother ship so that's not a good choice.

Here's my question. Does anyone have any experience with some form of mount for the Eastport Pram?
