Re: Hempel paints?

As a matter of fact I did paint boats. Back when I was kid I had always helped my father in fairing and painting our old wooden sailboat. We had always used Hempel's alkyde enamel and I was never really impressed with it's durability. It would crack every year and get all sorts of scratches. The gloss was great though.

As for "primer or no primer", I understand that paint goes on epoxy. This epoxy-based primer-paint system only confirms that. I expect to roll several coats anyway, so primer or paint coats, what's the difference? Wouldn't primer save some paint coats?

Unfortunately I haven't found one-part polyurethane paint (yet).
