Re: really old epoxy

I had about a half gallon of MAS resin and fast hardener left over from a boat I built 4-5 years ago. There was too much to simply toss so I left it on a shelf in the garage. Probably 100 degrees in the summer and 15-20 degrees in the winter.

This past summer I started building a Mill Creet 13 and and purchased a brand new epoxy kit. However, when it came time to do the end pours, guess what I used...that's right-the old stuff. First, though, I did like you did. Mixed a test batch just to see what would happen. Turns out it hardened just fine. So I mixed up a ton of it and poured it into the bow and stern and saved the newer, "good stuff" for the places where it'd show.

As mentioned earlier, be aware that the final color will be considerably darker that it was when new.

Good luck with the rest of your project!

Steve
