Thanks for all your replies. I went ahead with the old stuff and so far so good....scarf joints, fillets for hull joints and bulkheads and I'm waiting for the third coat of epoxy to harden on the hull glass. The fact that it has darkened has helped me settle the question of paint or varnish...I definitely don't want to cover up this rich amber color with paint now!
