Glass here does help to conceal the minor ridge of the nail heads to a degree. If its hammered at an angle for example where one edge is higher than the rest - then you'll have trouble. Lastly, try using a "punch" placed directly on the nail head to assure maximum flushness without whacking the bajeeziz out of the wood.
Relax all and all though.
