Kit Deckbeams

I am at the stage in my yak now where its time to install the deckbeams. Im buidling a WR180 and when i looked in the kit for the deckbeams i found two fairly thin pieces of plywood in the shape and radius of a deckbeam. Now, looking at the plans there is only 1 location for a deckbeam, and two pieces by themselves seem far to thin to hold a screw, so is it implied that the two must be glued together before installed?
