If the glue has cured, and you were even reasonably thorough in brushing on the epoxy, there is seldom any danger of a weak joint. It's a surprisingly forgiving step.
Be careful moving the panels around at this stage. Once everything is 'glassed, the strength of that joint (and everything else) is multiplied many times.
I've had far more failures as a result of over-sanding the scarfs----"wasp-waisting" the thickness of the panel at the scarf----than I have from glue issues.
