Here at the CLC shop, we have painted more hulls and varnished more decks of boats than we can count. Over the years we have used many different brands of finish coatings. We concluded that the Interlux products are one of the most durable and they are easy to apply. Each component works well together, and is compatible with the epoxy systems used in the CLC boat kits.

By using the suggested quantities below, you can achieve a beautifully finished boat. For maximum UV protection and durability we suggest 4 to 6 finish coats.

For a painted hull and varnished deck finish;

• 1 qt. of primer, 1 qt. of paint, and 1 qt. of Schooner Varnish for single kayaks and small skiffs
• 1 qt. of primer, 2 qts. of paint, and 2 qts. of Schooner Varnish for tandem kayaks and larger skiffs

For an all varnished finish;

• 2 qts. of Schooner Varnish for single kayaks and small skiffs
• 3 qts. of Schooner Varnish for tandem kayaks and larger skiffs
