Nail Heads on MC 16.5

Just finished putting the deck on my MC 16.5, I'm beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel. I've noticed several boats that have the hull paint continue onto the deck an inch or so, I like it and plan on doing the same. Instead of thinking how good that looks I'm realizing it is actually done to hide the nail heads. My nail heads are slightly below the deck surface. Should I fill them now or glass first and fill after? SB

RE: Nail Heads on MC 16.5

Nail Heads Below Deck Surface:

Since your nail heads are slightly below the deck surface, you have a couple of options.
The primary reason for filling nail holes is to improve aesthetics and prevent moisture from collecting in the voids.
Recommendations:

Glass First, Then Fill:
Proceed with glassing the deck first. This ensures a solid foundation.
After glassing, fill the nail holes with an appropriate filler.
Use a filler that is sandable and paintable to match the deck surface.
Sand and finish the filled areas to achieve a smooth surface.
Final Touches:

Once the filler is dry, you can proceed with any additional finishing touches, such as painting or staining the deck.
