Unclamped the portside outwale secound layer and discovered a break partway through the outer layer. I worked some thikened epoxy in the break and reclamped, it looks like it will hold. My question is should I put a couple of screws one on either side to reinforce the area, or just trust the repair.

Some builders routinely remove screws after the epoxy hardens. I have always left them in place, but a good glued joint is usually harder than the original wood. So the real question is, how much epoxy did you get on the affected wood surfaces?
