wavy chine lines
Posted by Jeremy on Nov 1, 2007
I'm buiding a westriver 180 and while stiching it up, I couldn't get the corners of the plywood to be perfectly on edge with each other. Some of the pieces stuck out further than others and some wouldn't be pulled together. This didn't seem like a big deal at the time as we're talking about 1/32" gaps or overlaps so I epoxied her up. Well now that I have sanded the epoxy off, I have wavy lines. I don't know if it's more visable because it's sitting right under a light or if it is just that visible. I am painting the hull and am a bit worried that it will really show. I'm considering sanding the chines to try to get a uniform line, but am not sure that's the way to go. Any advice?
