I'm with Greg on this one. Thickening the epoxy is easy: you can pretty much add as much as you much so that it won't run, and it will hold things on an angle quite well while curing. For my kayak, I fashioned my own footbraces and mounted them with ultra-thickened epoxy. Tape held the braces against the hull during curing. I have seen other applications as well.
