Glass over britesides

I have a old Severn from many years back that was not glassed on the bottom. Just epoxy sealed, filled with BS high build primer and painted with BS. After years of use I would like to re-do the bottom with a full coat of glass cloth. My question is, do I need to get every last bit of paint off the bottom and down to bare wood before beginning the glassing or will the epoxy adhear to the small remaining roughed up paint? without issue?
