Deck - Sheer edge
Posted by Chris J. on Apr 26, 2006
I'm ready to glass the decks on 2 CH16's...man do they look great so far! I'll have some pics by the weekend.
The manual says to round over the deck/sheer edge before applying the glass. I think I would like to install wood rub rails on both boats. If I go with the rails, could I not just leave the edges straight and trim the glass at the deck/sheer edge and have the rub rails as a continuation of the top deck line? I don't think the 4oz. cloth is meant to add much strength to this joint, or is it?
Also...I'd like to glass the coaming as well - should I use 6 or 4oz. fabric for this?
Thanks again.
Chris
