Where the sun don't shine

Ryan,

My rule of thumb, which has held up for a few years, only varnish where the sun shines. Take the time and varnish you'd spend in the hatches, and put another coat on the deck.

As for champagne - you're the Captain, buy what YOU like, the boat will be happy with whatever it gets - as will the crew.

Try to christen the boat with a little, paddle a little, take some pictures, beach her, THEN toast her. Then get toasted and take some more picthurs of at boofull kayaq - I made that, man!

It's great fun

Cheers

Mac
