i have done it both ways....alternating coats bottom and top...and doing all the coats on top...then switching to bottom.
need to be careful to make sure you have no drips...but other than that, can't tell which is which from a looks perspective.
in the future i will probably go with all the coats on one side...then switch to the other becuase it is quicker and makes no discernable difference.
