I agree with Terry. Buffing out the varnish looks---and feels---sublime. It's fussy and we almost never have time to do it at CLC, unfortunately.
The usual warning: satin varnishes don't have any UV protection for the epoxy. Use the standard gloss varnish for the first few coats, then put on a satin varnish. Or, buff out the usual gloss as Terry describes and you have instant satin. And all the bits of dust are gone.
