CH17 steering lines
Posted by Allan Reade on Dec 21, 2004
Hi
I've drilled holes for the plastic tubing containing the stainless steel cables in the rear deck at as low an angle as seemed practical (less than 45 degrees), but in time I can imagine the cable will cut into the tubing as it exits the deck when it's under tension and tries to straighten out.
Is it worth mounting a small block or fairlead on the rear deck behind the exit point to keep the cable in a straght line until it's clear of the tubing? I plan to cut off the tubing where it exits the deck.
Hope someone can answer yet another question from me. I'd like to thank everyone who takes the time to answer all these questions, and wish you all a good and happy Christmas.
