I totally agree with Andy's suggestions. It's a heck of a lot quicker to wet the tape while it's stretched out nice and flat on the plastic and you can just run the squeegee from one end to the other.

You should still "plan your race" though, because even with this approach, the goo can start to fire too early and prevent good wetting. Wetting out the tape is like a race between you and the chemical reaction.

This is one race where you WANT an unfair advantage: cooler weather, not-too-fast hardener, get everything ready before mixing, pour the whole batch along the tape as soon as it's mixed to minimize the pot-hardening chain reaction, work quickly but without panic, use Andy's above procedure.

To the extent possible, use small batches of epoxy. That doesn't come into play as much on wetting out tape, since you are probably going to mix enough for the whole length of one fillet. But it does mean that you should not plan to do two or more pieces of tape at once, at least until you are expert enough to know you can do it.
