How long you need to wait depends on lots of factors. Type of paint used. Weather (and there for curing) conditions. Type of masking tape. And so on.

I would wait at least a week if it was my boat. If you can bake it in the sun for a few hours that will help.

The Fine line tape is ok to use for this if the paint if fully cured. Otherwise use one of the others designed to come off easy. Be sure to press it down well.
