Not to disparage your thought of buying the racing package, but if you already have a S&G boat you're satisfied with, why not give a shot to SOF? You can drastically reduce the weight and you can get a very fast design in the baidarka boats. I've heard of people getting the weight down to about 25 pounds or so. Can't really beat that with a S&G boat, no matter what the weight of the plywood.
