As the owner of the "confused" MC15 I thought I should weigh in here. The Mill Creek 15 is NOT a boat for an 8 year old or for any child for that matter. It's an open question as to whether a Mill Creek 13 would work either. The 13 is too wide and the 15 is too narrow. You need a scaled down boat for an 8 year old. I would say that the Chesapeake 14 is a better bet.
