brass vs bronze

Knowingly little to nothing about metals, I'm curious if there is a huge disadvantage to using brass screws? I have been unable to find copper or bronze screws anywhere, but all of the stores have a plethora of brass. Will these corrode almost instantly in water? Am I better off going with stainless steel and messing up the aesthetics of the boat.
