If I remember correctly, there is no measurement for the sheer clamp length. You have to measure your side panels and subtract 3-4 inches for the bow and stern. Yes, running them all the way to the end is stonger and saves epoxy on the end pours. Mike M. has a good explanation and pics of how it is done, and he is also building a double.
