Re: forget pumps

I have built 3 boats 5 paddles and stuff without pumps. I would throw them away. Sooner or latter they burp and you should then throw out the batch.

I do the cup in a marked cup method. I use two different sizes of cups with two different sets of marks (on opposite sides) on each size for an instant selection of four batch sizes. I buy the clear frosted Solo plastic cups at Smart N Final.

The initial set up with 2:1 ratio:

Put a cup in a cup measure measure two jiggers of water into the inner cup make a mark (on the outter cup) with a felt tip pen. Measure one more jigger into the cup make another mark.

Now rotate the cups 180 degrees measure one more jigger into the cup (a total of four) make a mark. Then add two more jiggers (a total of six) and make a mark.

Empty and dry the cup and you are now ready to mix 3 or 6 oz. batches. The marked cup never touches the epoxy and can be reused until you smash it with a tool. Use a clean inner cup with each batch.

I have never tossed a batch or had a batch not set up.
