dowel stirrer

I was wondering how many people would wonder if that hint was totally made up. 3/8" dowel in 1000rpm drill,,,even if the screws held in for unthickened epoxy it would aerate the stuff terrifically. I spent the big dollars for a ss. stirrer (won't aerate) but stopped using it just because of the need to have killer solvents and the risk of turning the drill on at high rpm. It's a BAD idea and I strongly suspect the screws in the dowel suggestion was never actually used, it's a drawing. You shouldn't be mixing so much that it's unmanagable. Mix the epoxy then you only need a little more mixing to get the additives mixed. Even 10% cabosil will smooth out the mix and make it easier to mix. I'm pretty sure that if you looked into CLCs shop you'd see quart plastic containers and stirrer sticks (cast-offs) with no powered mixers.
