The manual for the Mill Creek does not appear to consistently define the length of the sheer clamp ( assuming that it has to be cut down from the length when shipped with the kit. 
it also doesn't appear to define how proud it should be above the edge of the sheer rail to allow for planing on page 123. 
 

am I missing something
