Tim,
One more kick at the can for rubrails.
You've heard the pros of a double glassed deck to hull joint. Good stuff.
How about this.
I put my rubrails on before I glass the deck and plane them flush to be a part of the deck's top edge.
Now when I glass the deck, the wrap over includes the rail and gives me a beautiful lower edge to trim the expoxied cloth.
While not the equivalent of 10oz, it is 4 oz of epoxy-filled fiberglass.
