Assuming you mean sliding-seat rowing.... Seems like looking for a book on how to ride a bike. Not that rowing is easy, but that it's hard to learn from reading books. The Chester should be pretty forgiving.

Concept2, the rowing machine & oar manufacturer, has some videos (online) and posters showing proper sliding-seat rowing technique. I guess I would say, look at their stuff, then go row. Start slow, pay attention to your position, get the motion down smooth before worrying about power. THEN, if you're still having trouble, buy a book.
