wood duck puzzle joint

Just when you thought it was impossible to mess up a puzzle joint, I think I managed to. The manual says to put fiberglass tape over the side of the panel facing the interior of the boat. I glassed one of the bottom panels on the interior side and the other panel on the exterior side.

Should I leave it as is? Should I glass the interior side of the panel as well?
