I thought the internal would give less mast clutter and would look better. I planned to have the exit on the rear of the mast that I could easily cleat.

Although the mast is hollow, I plan to put a 12 piece of teak on the inside at the bottom for extra strength. This should extend about 4 inches above the partners.

Thoughts?
