Scarf Problems?

I just finished the scarf gluing on my C17 but was only able to do the main panels of the sides and bottom since my benches were not long enough to do the smaller panels all at once. When I unwrapped them it appears that I was a little shy of fully seating them and there is about one sixteenth of epoxy showing which has small voids in it. I tried to sand it out and it came fairly smooth. I was concerned that I would sand through and create a dip. Is there something that can fill this area so that I can varnish. It does not look too bad on the sides and I could live with the "stripes" on the bottom if it can be made smooth. Help.
