Bottom panel 1/16" narrow
Posted by Dave P on Dec 12, 2006
Building a Chesapeake 16 LT from scratch. After cutting and hand planning to the line I ended up with the bottom panels 1/16" too narrow in the middle after comparing to the layout table. I didn't measure against the string line but it looks fair. I don't know if my layout was wrong or I got a little overzealous with the hand plane. Should I make a note and plan on shimming during stitching or will the error average out? TIA - Dave
