Well, thanks for all the ideas guys...not sure what direction i will go in...the latches seem kind of complicated...moving parts and all. I will proably play areound with the gasket, hatch sill situation and try to improve the fit and then this winter i am thinking of stripping in a recess and installing VCP hatches. A shame because tha hatches have some really beautiful wood but I do appreaciate things that function well too...
