Scot and Lee- Thanks for your responses - you framed the issues really well, and now I have a better idea how to think about it. I'm using 4 mm okoume, more deck beams than many S&Gs, and deck panels (it's not a tortured deck). It's a boat (mostly) for my wife, it'll get a lot of ocean use in the summer, stored in a garage in the winter. It probably won't get too beat up. I'm still not sure which I'll do, but you've helped me a lot.

Does anyone know where to get 2 oz glass?
