I decided that tipping was gliding across the rolled surface with the end of the brush limiting the pressure to the weight of the brush.

I found that if I didn't have sufficient thinner I got little waves at the edge of my brush because the paint didn't flatten out.

It sure would be nice to see an expert sanding and finishing.
