Carbon Fibre Coaming
Posted by ray on Oct 11, 2004
Progress report
All blank panels cut. Really enjoyed using the japanese saw - spot on! starting scarfs this evening.
Sometime ago i asked this forum about modifications made to the ch17. Thanks for all replies - Interesting reading. After much thought i think i am going to modify the coaming and hatches.
I intend to use CF to build the coaming and hatch rims. To the hatch rim i will fit the black rubber/plastic waterproof hatches fitted on valley kayaks (about £30 each).
While there are some very good websites about this (ocean kayaks) i would be really interested in hearing from someone who has used CF. What experiences did you have etc. ray
