Nailing them on is tedious. Screwing them on may be more or less tedious, haven't tried it yet. Probably not too late to leave them off and do a rounded shear, wrapping the paint onto the deck (if you're painting).

I put them on a recent MC 16.5, and I'll never do them again. I think I'll just use brass half oval instead. Lighter, easier to prepare/install and much tougher. Much more in keeping with my chronic laziness.

But they do look nice and keep the spray down a bit.
