Re: primer

I have been using the Interlux Epoxy Barrier Kote primer with Brightsides. It two part and really nasty. Hard and tough as nails however. Very happy with it so far.

As a test I am using the Zinser 123 primer on a test rudder for my sailboat. Recommended to me by a boat builder / designer. Coated with Brightsides. No problems so far. It is water based, dries to recoat in an hour. Goes on nice and will kill the epoxy so to speak so you can paint right away. If not priming then you really need to wait a few weeks or more to paint/varnish for the smoo to cure fully.

If my tests on the rudder go ok I'll try it on my next boat. The stuff sands nicely too.
