Phil,

Are you sure the water is coming from the seam where the base joins the hull? It looks very strong and water tight in the photo. Is it not possible that water is wicking up the rubber shaft (under load) and when dripping down to collect at the base?

I work on a lot of leaking plumbing at an old shopping center, and I often tie a rolled brown paper towel between upper and lower connections to determine from where the drip eminates. Maybe your could try this if the circular pour fails (or before).
