Bald Squeegees

Posted by Kurt Maurer on Apr 30, 2004

"Hey Kurt, do I have to weigh in all alone on the almighty squeegee here?"

Tell ya what Mac, I think Peter pretty much knows how I feel about things by now... But then, there's something else I tend to feel strongly about also: that folks ought to use what works best for them. It is super easy to forget that some people have just as disastrous a time endeavoring to use squeegees as we have had fighting rollers or brushes or whatever. And if the end result is a finish they are happy with, why then, mission accomplished.

Now that I'm looking forward to launching my fourth yak (Leslie's Cormorant 16 hybrid - pictures coming soon), I begin to wonder if maybe I'm not using *too little* epoxy. My cloth weave is never 100% invisible, although it's pretty close, and I always thought this was normal (hey, what would *I* know about 'normal'??). Boat number 5 will use altogether different schmoo techniques so I can see for myself a few things I have been wondering about for some time. Should be interesting...

Cheers, Kurt
