Wow, thanks for all the reponses and sorry it took me so long to get back to the board.

Doug, how'd you know? Yes, I am already married to an RN. Hence my great supply of latex gloves, etc.

I have mixed small batches, but I wondered if they were too small as it seemed I was constantly mixing. I use about a 6-8 plastic disposable party cups and popsicle sticks (I bought like a 1000 for $1 at Michaels craftstore). Anyway, thats why I wanted to know what other tricks were.

When I did try the dowel/screw trick, I did use a cordless drill...slow of course. ;)

I'm a seasoned woodworker and love my power tools. :) I like Jim's idea about the 3/4" stick; good one. Gives the drill something to grab onto. Maybe I'll try it, or stick with the majority and keep doing it by hand. It just seems like you need an awful lot of filler, and an awful lot of stirring to get to a peanut butter consistency!
