Re: Arctic Hawk versus Te

The funny thing is although I'm mighty critical of some s&g designs but there are fiberglass and plastic molded kayaks sold in 10X s&g kits and they do some really bone head stuff that gets excused once a rudder gets tossed on the stern. The hull should be good handling with or without steering/tracking aids. But where would we be without multichine Lookshas or Pentachine Prijons? Way back when my brother and I went paddling in Mendocino bay,,lots of swells and conflicted waves near the inlet. He in a 18' Arluk III and me in a 15' Swallow. My boat was wide and comfy and his had these loooonnnnnnng tapered and hollow ends that are just garbage in waves,,we traded boats and he said "why didn't I get a shorter boat?". It'll be great to see if someone has a chance to A/B the WR18 and WR180 to see how big the improvement is for waves.
