Clyde, after your experience with slow and fast MAS, and after several coats of marine varnish, did you notice a big difference in the final amber color? The Epifanes marine varnish I used is the color of coffee when poured out, and 4 - 5 coats is recommended. The whole yak took on an aged honey hue which I found pleasing. For my next kayak (haven't even gotten #1 wet yet - who's an adict?) I was thinking of tone diffences between hull and deck and coaming/hatch covers etc - thus this lengthy question.
