Fairing Board *pic*

That fairing board posted in my ealier message is 22" long. The paper is standard sheet paper, 11" long, cut lengthwise as glued end-to-end with contact cement. It may be longer than necessary for stitch and glue boats, but for strip-built boats I find the length very useful.

To change paper, a heat gun is used to warm up the contact cement, so the paper peels off relatively easy.

The pic below is of a fairing board that uses a sanding belt and has one 'flexible side' (from Wooden Canoe Heritage Association web site).
